Welcome to Wire Mesh Fabrications Limited’s website, if you are looking for a high-quality, durable Autoclave Mesh Basket, look no further.

What Are Autoclave Mesh Baskets?

An autoclave is a pressure chamber that is used to effectively sterilise equipment at very high temperatures (132˚C/270˚F). An autoclave is a machine used to carry out industrial and scientific processes requiring elevated temperature and pressure in relation to ambient pressure/temperature.

Autoclaves are used in medical applications to perform sterilization and in the chemical industry to cure coatings and vulcanise rubber and for hydrothermal synthesis. Industrial autoclaves are used in industrial applications, especially in the manufacturing of composites.

This system is extremely versatile and is used effectively for both small and large scale applications, and across many different sectors, including:

  • Scientific
  • Healthcare
  • Beauty,
  • Veterinary
  • Pharmaceutical

The autoclave mesh baskets from Wire Mesh Fabrications are typically produced in stainless steel 304 or 316 and are exposed to high-temperature steam inside an autoclave.

There are a few different types of baskets for an autoclave. They include mesh and wire baskets. A mesh basket is made from stainless steel and is suitable for most loads. Wire baskets are available in a variety of materials and styles. Some models offer lids.

Surgical baskets are designed to hold surgical instruments in a safe and sanitary manner. They are made of high-quality stainless steel. The material must be resistant to corrosion. Stainless steel is also durable and can withstand humid environments. In addition, these baskets help to keep the work area small.

Stainless steel baskets are also recommended for dental instrument sterilization. This is because they are easy to sanitize. Choosing a basket made of 316L stainless steel will ensure that the basket can resist salty and aggressive environments.

Another type of basket for an autoclave is a test tube basket. They are available for sterilizing and draining glassware. Several types of test tube baskets are available, including those made from polypropylene, stainless steel, and polycarbonate. Test tube baskets are not corrosive and are resistant to breakage.

Depending on the nature of your load, you may need to select a specific cycle for sterilizing. The cycle should be able to reach 121 deg C in less than 30 minutes. You will need to check your temperature tape when the cycle is complete. Ideally, you should allow a minimum of 50 to 60 minutes for the cycle.

The main purpose of an autoclave is to kill microorganisms. If you are sterilizing liquids, you should leave a sufficient amount of room for the steam to circulate. Also, be careful to avoid wrapping up too tightly. Leaving too much air between the bag and the interior walls of the autoclave can cause steam to escape.

You can also use a pressure cooker to sterilize your instruments. For this method, you need to operate the machine according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Afterwards, you should let the contents cool and dry.

Autoclaves should be maintained and operated by qualified personnel. Before you start the sterilization process, you must make sure that the autoclave is in good working condition. The manufacturer provides a pressure gauge. Check the gauge regularly and ensure that the pressure is set at 15 psi. Once the pressure is in place, you should open the door of the autoclave slowly. Do not open the door while the unit is operating.

Lastly, you should make sure that the materials you are sterilizing are properly packed and labelled. Some autoclaves come with pre-set cycles, so you can easily choose the right cycle for the material.
